Why Online Counselling?

Maybe you've never reached out to anyone before, and this feels less frightening, safer for you. Maybe you are unable to leave your home. Or maybe there isn't the right person to support you where you live. Online counselling can be an effective way to receive support and guidance to work on your problems.

What is email counseling?

You may mail us as many times as you like, however you will soon see that we will be expecting you to take steps to resolve your concerns. We will not try to resolve the complex issues of your life in one snappy mail, but to work slowly and meaningfully with you through, and past the issue that has lead you to e-mail us. The more honest and open you are the more easily we can engage the counselling process.

If you are nervous of using the net for counselling, or it is your first time, perhaps it will help if you mail us about a small issue, that is not too scary, and once you have built up some confidence in us, you can tell us about other bigger issues?

It’s OK to ask for help”...

LifeLine provides non-directive, problem management counseling.   In this process the counselor acts as a caring listener to and facilitator of the individuals concerns.
Counselling is provided free, in part, due to our large volunteer base.  Volunteers at LifeLine receive no remuneration for their services at all, and pay an annual membership to belong to LifeLine.  The “magic” of LifeLine is held in the connection made between a person talking through a concern with a person who is there just because they care.

Please note LifeLine counselors are trained counselors from all walks of life. However the services we offer are as counselors:

We are NOT doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, or any other medical field professionals. For medical problems, please refer to the medical experts.
We are people who care for the community and we want to help you.
